ITINERARY & COSTS

The land only cost for this safari is $AU8185 per person twin share. $AU8995 single

Day 1.  13 May 2026. Arrive at Maun airport and transfer to Cresta Riley's Hotel.  General and safety briefing from our safari operator - Kalahari Breeze in the evening.  No meals included today.

Day 2.  14 May 2026. After breakfast depart by road to Moremi Game Reserve, a region of the Okavango Delta and a predator hotspot.  Lions, leopards, cheetahs and wild dogs are seen here, as well as elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, water birds, a wide variety of raptors and antelope species.  Most of the drive to our camp is through the wilderness area, so animals are likely to be spotted long before we reach the camp.  Meals include B,L,D.

Days 3 & 4.  15 & 16 May,  Two days of amazing game viewing in Moremi Game Reserve. On one of the days there is a boat excursion on the channels of the Okavango Delta, where one can encounter elephants, hippos and water birds, and if we are lucky we may be blessed with a sighting of spotted-necked otters or the shy,  elusive and very beautiful sitatunga - a species of aquatic antelope.  Meals included B,L,D.

Day 5.  17 May.  Today we drive back through Moremi Game Reserve to Maun for our second night at the Cresta Riley's Hotel.  Meals included B.

Day 6.  18 May.  After breakfast we drive in a comfortable air-conditioned combi-mini bus to the vast open spaces of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans for our candlelit dinner and sleepover under the stars, tucked up cosily in a warm swag on a comfy mattress.  This is an unforgettable experience.

Meals included B,L,D.

Day 7.  19 May.  We meet the meerkats of Makgadikgadi, arriving at the colony to spend time with them as they emerge from their burrows to enjoy the morning sun. Here the meerkats are habituated to humans, so we can expect to have a really close-up encounter. After breakfast we drive back to Maun airport for a scenic helicopter transfer to our camp in the vast community owned wildlife conservancy in the inner Okavango Delta. We spend four nights wild camping here.  This is a truly immersive experience, where we are the privileged guests of the animals who inhabit the conservancy.  There are only a couple of other camps and self-driving is not permitted, so you will not see many other vehicles. Here our days are spent enjoying game drives, sharing this beautiful landscape with the creature who call the Okavango Delta home.

Days 8, 9 & 10.  20, 21 & 22 May.  Two game drives per day and one guided excursion on one of these days in a mokoro - the traditional canoe of the delta region. This also includes a short bushwalk.  Meals included on these days - B,L,D.

Day 11.  23 May.  We leave the conservancy by road, with one last game drive on the way back to Maun airport, arriving in plenty of time to connect with onward flights.  Meals included - B.
