After breakfast we'll be transferred by road (about 90mins) to the border post at the town of Kazungula. Here we clear passport controls for leaving Zimbabwe and entering Botswana. On the Botswana side of the border we'll be transferred across the Kazungula Bridge spanning the Zambezi River to Kasane Airport where we'll be met by our wild camping safari operator - Kalahari Breeze Safaris. Here's where our wild camping adventure begins. An excellent sealed road takes us through Chobe forest and alongside the Chobe River to the village of Kachikau. This where the sealed road ends and the true wilderness begins. It's also where we can expect to start seeing wildlife, though we might have been lucky enough to see some as we followed the Chobe River. The drive to our camp in Savute is one big game drive, where it's quite possible to see four of the "Big Five" We'll arrive at camp in time for dinner. The camp will have already been set up by the crew who travel ahead of us.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included.
22 & 23 August
We spend 2 full days of wildlife viewing in Savute. This is a scenic region of sand dunes, rocky outcrops and intriguing boabab trees. It has a high density of predators, lions, leopards and wild dogs as well as general game and elephants. It is a dry area where aninals tend to gather at waterholes, making for excellent game viewing. It also has the famous Savuti Channel, a normally dry watercourse that from time to time floods for no apparent reason. It is though that perhaps these random flows are caused by tectonic activity. In any case the channel is a great place for game drives.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included both days
24 August.
Another drive through fauna rich country brings us to the Mababe Depression at the very southern end of Chobe National Park. The depression is a vast, mostly treeless plain and this mark the spot where the channels of the Okavango Delta finally disappear into Botswana's fine white Kalahari sand.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included.

A full day's game viewing in the Mababe region.

We slowly make our way through game viewing areas to Maun with the possibility of seeing wildlife for most of the journey until we get back onto the sealed road once again, a few kilometres north of Maun. We spend the night at the Cresta Riley's Hotel in the centre of town.
Breakfast & lunch included.
27 August.
There will be time to take an optional scenic helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta after breakfast, before we depart by road for the Inner Okavango Delta. Our campsite is situated in a community concession known as NG32. This is a large area that only vehicles from a handful of camps can traverse. There are no self-drive vehicles permitted here, so the game viewing is intimate and excellent. Most of the trip to the camp is a game drive. Here, on either 27 or 28 August you will be able to experience a mokoro trip to one of the Delta islands. A mokoro is a kind of traditional dugout canoe, poled through the shallow channels of the delta by one of the expert guides/polers from a nearby village.
